I'm looking for some Chairgun assistance, please...

From their PDF file help: http://www.hawkeoptics.com/user/chairgun/ChairGun408Help.pdf
  • ChairGun4 has the facility to choose any of six Ballistic Profiles - depending on the particular application:
    G1 - Standard Model
GA - Diabolo Airgun Pellet candidate
GL - Blunt nose, exposed lead
    GS - Round ball (smooth)
    RA4 - 0.22 Long Rifle
GC - Plain Cylinder Gx - User Defined

Regarding adjustable mounts, once you have zeroed the rifle (using the mounts), they dont interfere with the calculations.

"Tominco"Is there a way to use chair gun with adjustable scope mounts?

How or where would I punch in the angle difference?

Also, What is the difference in BC programs and which one should I be using?
G1
GA
GL
GS
RA4
GC
GI
G7
G8
GU

Thanks!
Tom
Hi Tom!
You can use it with adjustable scope mounts (I am guessing you want to know how much to raise or lower the back mount?). All it will tell you is how much to raise the mount/lower the mount, basically how thick the shim needs to be and were it goes. Look in the "Toolbox" tab under the "Calculate and Calibrate" menu for the "Scope Mount Shims" applet. Just measure the distance from the front of one ring to the front of the other to get your "span". It will tell you how thick a shim you need and where to put it. Interpret that as how much to raise or lower a ring and which ring to do it too.

You should use the G1 model or the GA model. There isn't much difference and the experts are split on which one is better for pellets. If you are shooting bullets use the GL or G1 models. If you are using vendor specified BCs then use the model the vendor specifies because that is the one he used when he measured the BC. I personally tend to favor G1 after a long talk with one of the guys that designs bullets for AGs.

Thanks Mike.
That's close to what I'm after. I'm using the Sportsmatch ATP66 rings and, they don't use shims. I was hoping there was a way to just type in the difference in angles - barrel vs. scope.
I'll look into the instructions further tomorrow to see if I can find a way to make it work. Or... break out the calipers! :)
