I own a few Anschutz .22’s that have been customized and tuned and they will take even my most accurate PCP at 100 yards any day. At 50, that is a different story. Any given day my .22 or .25 cal barrels for my WAR Flex could outshoot my Annie’s. As mentioned above, the .22 ammo is very inconsistent. I’ve spent hours and hours doing ammo testing and chrono testing with various types of High end Eley, RWS and Lapua .22 LR ammo and even on the best stuff offered to the public, I’ve see. Up to a 30 fps spread in 10 shots. If you were to ask me to grab a rifle and shoot my best 50 yard group, I would still go for my custom Anschutz rifle, but to do that I would be shooting ammo that costs $20 / box of 50 so in that respect it’s not a fair comparison. If shooting ”regular” good quality .22 LR ammo, the PCP will win all day every day.
