I'm back!

Contrary to a certain members BS, lies, & general trolling of yours truly, I had to come back. Whatever he may have said I am, I assure you I am not. I won't speak of it any further. I am finishing up remodeling the man cave & am still nit-picking things to finish that up and get more piles of rifles off the floor. I also have a few more rifles, belt buckles and the like. With more coming in. So let's get off on the right foot this time, shall we?

Thanks guys! That's heartening to hear. A lot has happened since last time. I won an auction for a 50's Weaver KV60 3-5X28(?) scope. All blued steel from El Paso. With the original factory rings, made to fit the Winchester model 70. It dropped right on my Crosman model #70 Pellgun! I also got a later version model 70 stock that has a flat, angled fore end seen here;

Yeah, they sure did! The model #70 Pellgun was made from 1973-1980. Mine is a first year low serial number. I'm going to put the original stock back on it and practice some serious checkering on this later stock. It was copied from the Winchester model 70 Ranger, their base model. It came with no checkering, and a medium walnut stained beechwood stock. I'm going to give it the model 70 Standard checkering and one or two other little things that could be had on the Standard & Supergrade. Here's a pic of the pre-64 Winchester model 70 Standard in .243WCF for reference;

I wish they'd make the model 70 today in .25cal! Now that'd be fun to hunt with! By the way, the scope with mounts came with factory weaver/picatinny rings. But the bases were for tapped hole mounting it came with. Looked brand new? So I searched for and ordered UTG dovetail-to-picatinny mounts. Dropped right in place without moving the rings at all! I guess that shows how closely Crosman copied the model 70 Ranger!?

Really nice lines on your rifle, Leonard. Awesome scopes those old Weavers. Blued steel is so right on a gun. Folks think you can't hit anything with a scope adjusted for 100 yards at closer ranges. Maybe they can't. . I have a 3x9-32 Weaver Marksman on my W. model 69A. A truly classic look. A V9 sits on my custom Mauser.. So you know I appreciate your Crosman. Anyhow.

I'm going to mount an old J series Weaver on a prewar BSA one of these days.. One of my Improved Model B's is a little worn and doesn't have any sights. Probably just going to neatly epoxy a dovetail to the compression tube..I have to acquire a vintage set of Weaver 3/4" rings. for 3/8 dovetail. Should look ok. . Good to have a few BSA prewar beaters so I don't have to take my nice ones out when I want to shoot one and share it.

I'd love to build a steel receiver and barrel custom model 70. That would be slick as eel 5h1t .👍 And why not a K-4 on top held in Weaver Detachable rings like on yours.?

Old school is cool school. Experience is the teacher!

Shanghai, are you listening? How about a QB70?👍👍
