Hey guys. I bought a airgun here on AGN recently (using goods and services) and had issues with it. I am not going to get in detail with what happened and just tell you guys what you need to know. The full story is in the feedback section.
When I made a claim on paypal it said it violated their terms and services. Paypal does not protect firearms even if this airgun is not a firearm.
so my airgun was not protected and I lost the claim. I wanted to start a discussion on if any of you had the same experience and what I can do. I have appealed the claim outcome and still was denied even a look at it. The representative I talked to for the appeal told me that he was familiar with airguns and that he added this on the claim file to make it clear that it was not a firearm. He even went as far to say I would probably win the appeal with the evidence I had. However, i still lost the appeal based on their policys.
So I am warning you all that paypal will not or might not protect your used airgun purchases. You need to pound into their heads that you bought an airgun not a real gun during a dispute. Theoretically, someone could post a WTS: airgun post on a Airgunnation and ship you something entirely different and you would not get your money back. I will be doing more research and be calling them on this issue but wanted your suggestions on what to do. I have all the emails and pictures of this event if you have any questions.
Probably better to just skip the fees and pay with friends and family to only trusted members. If this is not a freak case and is how it normally is then I highly recommend a warning to be stickied in the classified section.
Interesting thing is I just checked the classified section and other hyperlinks on the forum and there is no sticky for forum rules or classifieds rules.
