Nope, Impacts are not comfortable to shoot. Yet, they win most competitions. You'll find that a goodly number of crown shooters go back to the impact.
If you want a rifle , Crown is an option. (HINT) DON'T get caught up in the FX BS. There are a lot of very good airguns at a lot less money!
Yes, agree. Very good guns for less. As for winning competitions, yes, Impacts win. Sometimes I think it's because, like at RMAC, FX sponsored a large team of highly skilled shooters and gave them absolutely top end equipment. Combinations like that should get some wins, no matter what. I must admit, supporting that kind of sponsorship does appeal to me.
You said, a number of Crown shooters go back to Impacts. Why? From what I've seen, the Crown should be just as accurate (now that the 700mm barrel is available) at longer ranges, so why would someone go from a more comfortable gun, that's just as adjustable in different ways, and just as accurate to an uncomfortable thing like the Impact? Got me boggled on that one. That answer might be the key to whether I jump on a Continuum or keep the powder dry for a second Impact.
Of course if I bought a second Impact in .22, I could swap the upgraded X barrel and probe on my .25 cal MK1 with the new .22 barrel and probe on the new gun. Then I'd have the better chassis under the .25 and the MK1 would have plenty of power for the .22. Choices bring their own problems.
I love this sport and thank you everyone that responded so far. This is GREAT! (Tony the Tiger reference there)
