I have molds that seem to drop consistently from all cavities but I do have a couple that don't. I'm sure I could polish the cavities and see some improvement but both them happen to be brass and I don't like casting with them much anyway.
I don't remember the exact difference in the measurements but it was enough that I was seeing 2 distinct groups from the cavities. I started separating the pellets by cavity and one cavity from each of them shot tighter and to a different poi than the other. Both of them are 2 cavity molds.
Casting is hard work to get perfect drops. Use a micrometer and a good scale to check the size and weight. You can sort them and get as many as possible that are the same. I'm doing hollow point 357's. Some are 119 grain +/- .3 grn and some are closer to 123. Just keep them separate. At 80 yards the poi shift is only 2 inches so dead hogs and deer don't know the difference ¯\_༼ᴼل͜ᴼ༽_/¯
