If you are not shooting x brand.

I remember few months ago when the whole slug thing started..and the videos in you tube saying that if you where not shooting slugs from that brand you simply weren't shooting,..going to the extent to mention barrel brands as no good for slugs..they are all paid puppets..starting with my utility guns condor my .22 I could shoot from 19g all the way 44g accurately..change the barrel to .177 from 14g to 24g with standard airforce barrels and ones I installed the regulator they are perfect for my shooting I cant simply can't justify the spend...then it comes my taipans long there is simply nothing I can't shoot with them all the way up to 165y .if you miss the first shot ,and you se the hit you will not mis the second...with my galatians up to 85y I simply can't not miss knowing my hold..you simply dont need a expensive air gun to enjoy shooting ..at least not from that brand..I'm glad tha you to enjoy shooting slug from the marauders, edguns ,condors,crickets,Sumatras..etc if the weight is correct for the power output of your gun and the slugs are sized Wright there no reason for your pcp not to shoot slugs..maybe no dime size hole at 80.but you got the idea ..you now that if you are going to compete that another thing and you will need to spend money ..

Well I,am gonna speak freely: If you refer to "x-brand", I am guessing you are talking about FX guns? And then you are refering to Matt Dubber and his experiance with those guns? As far as I know he say nothing about other guns not being able to shoot slugs. What is special for him, is that being living in south Africa, he is limited to .22 caliber. Not like in US, where you can choose wathever caliber, and slug you want. He then simply choosed to go down the route which fitted his needs. We can see from his videos he has a long journey shooting airguns, trying heavy pellets, and slugs, and then in the end colaborating with FX. I see nothing wrong in that. He choosed to develope his needs in .22 caliber. The end result was that he, FX, and slug manufacturers, in colaboration, refined the slug shooting scenario in that caliber. And then making it a litle simpler for a "novice" choosing what barrel, to fit a slug in that caliber.

I've been shooting slugs in my AG's fr a lot of years nowt. Both in AG barrels, and in firearm barrels fitted to my AG's I cast, and design my own bullets. Not for sale, but for my enjoyment and knowledge.

So far, I;'ve developed my bullets from NOE and Arsenal molds along with MP molds That I mod to my needs and shoot them in .22, .2213, .250, .253, .257 and soon to test the .172 barrel. Next it will probably be an fX X-liner fitted in CF tubing for more testing.

I've Never owned an "X" brand, but would love to. Raptor Mini on the way. Yep, Firearm barrel in .221

Just abut any AG with a decent barrel will shoot slugs well. Once the twist is determined, and the dia. of either the bore, or choke if present, and slugs are selected for a match to the specs, it's "ON!

Ain't it fun!!! ;<)

You the man, Knife! Make sure and let me know when you get that Raptor!

man, I said I would never get into slugs, but my widow neighbor had a garage sale, and she sold me for cheap her passed husband’s Lee melting pot, some other accessories I’m unfamiliar with, and around 90 lbs in lead fishing weights. Gonna be giving you a call, Knife, for the special tutorial, lol

My personal opinion on "x" brand is that you pay alot then you pay little more then you realise you need dremel, aftermarket regulator and after that you realise you also want aftermarket bigger plenum for everything bigger than .22 I would not call that buying a ferrari I would say its endless moneypit that eats all your money, gives you slugshooting platform thats not suitable for any longer range than pellets due really crappy BC numbers of any relevant slug fitting inside X brands magazines and the lack of power and too slow twistrate to push anything better out. I have buddy who spend 4k on the "best of the best" model of that x brand all those uberduber barrels, aftermarket regs bla bla just to see it performed alot worse with slugs than pellets. Now he is done with airguns and getting 22LR since he said that he will never put any money on any airgun anymore due my 300dollar Spa M10 with LW 5.7mm barrel outshot his 4k gun that was "the ultimately best money can buy". Pellet pusher is pellet pusher and if you really want slugshooter there is alot better platforms for it and if ur fine with pellets than ur fine with X brand they really are awesome pelletguns. People should be honest with these things someone may end up losing alot of money due false statements and all that hype for nothing cost me my airgun shootingbuddy.

Just my 2cents. Cheers.

Until these AG Co's come out with affordable and more solidly built rifle systems specifically built to shoot x brand and weight of slugs, including the barrel with the proper twist rate that has been fully tested and comes with a test target at longer distance, I'm not messing with slugs.

Against my better judgment I ordered 200 30 cal slugs and of course they don't shoot well out of my rifle, like 1.3" at 50Y, so I have 190 slugs I'll need to sell now. It's certainly not that the quality of these slugs were to blame. They were as perfect as I've seen and the rifle is very high quality and expensive as well, and I believe it has a slightly faster twist.

X brand isn't all it's cracked up to be, I own 3 of them and sold the 4th because it could not be fixed. Actually the Royale has been a great gun, but the rest, no so much. I definitely paid too much for them.

I do appreciate quality and have some nice stuff that was worth every penny and some decent less expensive stuff that I'm happy with. All they need to be is accurate and reliable and I'm good.

I'm no a hater, I love air gunning this forum and learning from you all and your experience with your new air guns, what ever brand that gun is..this and every other forum should be about learning and sharing knowledge...not to have people trying to fool us with products plagued with problems..not because I said it..I read about all over this forum people that maybe only want only one gun only to se that if they are not airgunsmith they can't make it work properly...as soon the least gen arrived I wanted one .I only wait a few months to see the first review's in the forum...and they were a lot of unhappy clients..you be sure that when they have their act together..I will buy me one and enjoy such a great looking gun..

Wow.

So you're saying 18gr pellets can penetrate and knock over water bottles at 300yds?

No Im saying 24j vs 10j at 300yds and terrible BC numbers + subsonic speeds makes shooting past 100yds pointless. Even small wind will blow that slug 2feet off from target exactly what happens with pellets too and you really cant talk about realworld accuracy. If you want to shoot past 100yd you really want to use heavy bullet with alot better bc lets say 223/257 or real bigbore.
