if I may interject an observation about springers and pcps is this

I consider those notos like the crosman 2240 or the ruger 10/22. THE MOST EXPENSIVE budget gun you'll ever buy. They're great guns, no argument there. The problem is the aftermarket is too enticing. I might get one if I know i can set it up for 177 with an fx liner and a bottle.... Not that they're better but because it's the devil I know right now.
No need to modify!
I have a bone stock , $269 Notos and love it!

What is great 6gun is that you do not have to; you can be happy with what you have. A good springer is going up in price all the time. Maybe you can shoot an English or German springer and see if it is worth the trouble. Many people are quite happy just shooting PCPs. It is all about fun and enjoyment.

The way I see it is I have to have both PCP and springers. My next will be a springer or a SSP pistol.
Good move!
I scoped my HW75 SSP and never put the scope back on my 22 Ruger pistol. My Best shoot was .22 cal plastic BBs of off pins at 25 yards.

I am struggling to maintain even 5 inch groups at 30 yards with my .177 gammo swarm maxim. In the springer world is there a greater disparity between cheap and more high end guns or is it more likely poor mechanics? (I feel very competent with centerfire and this is making me work for it!) Haha
30 yards with iron sights and 5" groups is not something to be ashamed of.....scoped quality springer like my '97K or '48 springers will bring joy at 1" groups from a shouldered good bench rest. Using iron sights from either at 30 yards from a bench with my eyes will also bring joy at 4-5" groups.....it's the shooter, not the gun!

Here you go.
Modified browning leverage vs Beenan Underlever.
Both are good. Low cost shoot well.
You can shoot your best group with the Underlever and the springer will half it every time.
As for maintaining the springer. It sat in my gun case for ten years before last week when it floored me with some 55 yards shots.

Springers are a whole lot less work ! i can leave a springer untouched for a year , then pick it up and a tin of pellets and go hunting for a week or more . No compressor , no air tank , no checking for leaks no kit of O rings to pack , just go have fun !

Stan in KY .

Don't forget to mention...PCP's including support items are over the top E X P E N S I V E ! I have both and can vouch for that fact.....

I have both and have noticed I tend to grab the cheaper springer the majority of the time I go for a walk/plinking. That low maintance and lack of worry regarding air levels is bliss for me! But I must admit I am far more accurate with even my cheapest pcp.

Thanks for the encouragement! I will continue to practice with this for the summer and then try and find a higher quality springer when I am ready to take advantage of it. Airguns are addicting!
