If I could only get one air rifle, no matter the price, for hunting and target shooting, what should I get? I was thinking about the FX Crown.
Gotta give a +1 here. If I had to pick one rifle format it would be a crown in blue laminate. Wish more guns were available in blue laminate as it's my favorite color."ShootinBlind"No total expert here, but it would seem to depend on intended usage. A static target or field target shooter will likely be very happy with the standard rifle configuration of a Crown, Streamline, Air Arms, rifle. If you're mostly hunting, and in the woods, maybe a bullpup would be nice. A standard format rifle isn't as useful when hunting in the heavy woods or brush - I can tell you that from personal experience. Hunting from a truck is another thing.
If I could only have one, and was intending to hunt, I'd consider one of the Ukrainians, standard size .22 or .25 Taipan Veteran. The trigger is sublime. Ernest Rowe can be heard to proclaim the triggers on the Taipans is the best design he has seen, the most adjustable, best layout.
I've got others, but the Taipans make you pretty much think only of them when you're hunting.
