Idea's for a sub $300 scope with "clickable" elevation turrent?

Ray,

I did an informal survey and it seems most shooters don't dial, they hold over.

I'm with you with the clicking, though!! I've had a UTG 6-24x50 and it just lost zero three times in just one week, on a 15 FPE springer. Not cool.

I have been looking to replace it and for that I dug through a gazillion webpages. That's how I came up with a couple of scope specs tables, with prices, and a lot of other details for comparison. To make it onto the list the scopes had to have exposed turrets(!), a reticle usable for holdovers, 10 yards minimum side parallax, and cost between 300 and 500$.

Maybe from those tables you'll get some ideas what specific scopes you could research and specifically ask about on the forums.

3-16x (4-16x, 3-18x) magnification, here: https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/scope-model-comparison-with-specifications-3-16x-300-500/

6-24x (5-25x, 4-20x) magnification, here: https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/scope-model-comparison-with-specifications-6-24x-300-500/

You could also ask on the sub-forums the field target shooters, as in some classes of field target all they do is dial scopes, so they would know which scopes (or scope series) do or do not track.

There are a few other things to consider if you want to dial turrets instead of holding over, like how much elevation adjustment range you want/need to reach out to the range at the power you have available (UTG for instance don't tell their customers that important number, anywhere....).

Happy shopping,

Matthias

Wow, thanks man. Seems like there are some folks who have asked this question before.

Thanks
