Ideas and Advice Needed!

If you can find one, The Sharp Ace Hunter (forearm pump) or the Sharp Ace Target (side pump) in .22 are rugged, powerful and accurate. They break down easily into the action and stock. My Target Ace came in a fitted, zip case (30'x 8"x3") that holds the scoped action in one section, the stock in a second section and a large pocket for accessories (screw on moderator, pellets etc.). The trigger is so fine that I could hardly believe it has a blow off valve. Mine will hold an inch at 50 yds silently and with no discernible recoil.

They are difficult to find and pricey, but worth it. There is a .20 for sale on either this Forum or the Yellow.

Sharp also made a smaller forearm pumper called the Innova for about 1/3 the price of the Ace. It is only 35 inches long, weighs under five pounds and, IIRC, takes down with a single stock screw. Have shot - but do not own one - in .22 and it is also a high quality build and only slightly less powerful.

Either should suit your needs

Thanks for the info. I would be concerned for parts with anything rare, part of the attraction towards 1377/1322 are that they're very common. That said, when I start thinking about parts availability like this, the prepper in me appears from thin air lol. I suppose this build could fill a SHTF category, if I decided to add that tag on to the project then .177 or .22 ammo would be desired. The .20 cal is making a rebound, but it's still pretty niche on the grand scheme of things.

...i'm thinking the 1322 modded out - from the momoent i read your initial post , mtn ghost . i realize cost is not a barrier for you , but the availability , and compactness of the 1300 (1322 w/ steel breech) and the aftermarket parts from charkes mellon airguns, or airgun alchemy make this a 12 ftlb option that weighs 3 lbs and takes small space in your pack. this is why i started using the 2400pcpx (a 2400kt w/2260 dual fuel tube) . it was something i could smuggle past the general public of larger parks around here in a backpack , and just screw on the shoulder stock once i got back in there where people dont frequent . i think you could achieve 12 ftlbs with one of these hot-rodded 1322's. it's alot of fun to trick these little pumper pistols out, too. these 1322 pistols probably provide more power and parts availability than any other platform. -- and yes , rigging a pump over your back or somehow toting it thru the woods with you completely sux. i carried a pony tank ( 3000 psi 62 ci tank for 1900 psi refills ) , but it was as heavy as the pump - just not as awkward. i'll help you all i can with overclocking your 1300kt / 1322 - but we found that the transfer port area under the breech was crititcal for power to flow thru barrel. also , maybe you could skip the .177 idea. the 14.5" crosman .22 barrel would fit in your pack and serve you best. - paul.

I have also looking for the same thing as far as a trail gun, trust me and others about the pump and a pcp. Put mildly its not fun, even more at higher elevation, thinner air for you and the pump. I switched to a springer to replace my .22lr Ruger backpacker. Until I came within 25 yards with a mountain lion, now its a kel-tec sub 2000 9mm. I’m also looking at a 80lb crossbow pistol.
