ID this springer, in old Black Sabbath pic

Always a fan of Sabbath, and stumbled across this old pic, probably from the early 1970's. Hard to tell from this pic, but wondered what rifle Iommi has? Thought Id throw it out to eagle-eyed posters here.

That’s Tony Iommi holding a gun this time. I seen another picture with Ozzy Osbourne standing beside Tony but Ozzie was holding the gun. In that particular picture you could get a better look at the gun. Somebody else put that other picture on here a while back.

From the shape of the end cap, it looks like a BSA Mercury to me.

It’s gotta be something BSA, knowing where sabbath is from. Ozzy was born in Birmingham. For those who don’t know, BSA is Birmingham small arms.

Looks like an RWS34.

The front sight looks more like a newer T06 M34 with the prominent ramp with barrel. The early M34's used a barrel style front sight. I think it is a BSA or a Webley.

The back block is Airsporter or Mercury. Looks to be a loading tap. The stock screws are in the right place. Typical "hunk a junk" plastic BSA foresight with hood. BSA rounded styled forestock..... It's an Airsporter! Why does it look gray? IDK I have 4 Mercury's and about 12 Airsporters (1948 Mk1 all the way to RB2 Stutzens).

This picture is obviously the same day. You can see the BSA Mercury / Airsporter back block plainly. Same gun? Probably, maybe, possibly. Both pictures the scope has a silver ring A la Tasco

So sorry, but the picture above is NOT a Meteor Super! It is Absolutely an Airsporter. When did a Meteor ever have a loading tap? NEVER!

Agreed. That picture is definitely of an Airsporter as it's a tap loader. The Meteor was a lower cost break barrel offering from BSA.

Definitely British made. Not an RWS34.
