I would like to start with long range and bench rest shooting

Anybody from Canada can chime in to share a knowledge?

I don't have the gun yet, waiting 3+ months already for FX Impact to show up at my Canadian dealer no luck so far.

I found two second hand but older version Impacts in Canada, if I recalculate how much the updates would cost me - better to go for a new piece.

I cannot order from US dealers do to specific barrel/shroud design allowed only in Canada. So I started tinkering towards RAW HM1000 versions and specially like the chassis designs in overall, but what I am seeing from web pictures, anything at the tip that looks suspicious silencer like....that is a nogo across the border.

And btw I don't need any moderator/silencer/call it whatever, because I will be shooting inline with powderburners anyway (four gunclubs around my house in half hour drive) and I will need a headset for myself for sure.

What other models/brands shall I look for that have no option to attach "moderators" but working well for 100-200-300 eventually?

From my personal experience shooting air guns past 100 yards is doable but difficult. You are going to invest a small fortune in equipment to accomplish mediocre results.

Guns are like hammers and screw drivers. Right tool for the job makes life so much easier. If you go to 200 ane 300 a 222 or 223 is the nuts especially if you have a place to shot and you said you did.

I am sure many who will be glad to help you in your quest and the big bore guns are very capable but pricey

As for guns equipment for Canadian sale and use I can't help you with that.

For longer range air gun use the RAW 1000 in 30 cal is probably as good as any out there.

I have an impact mk II in 25 and a RAW in 30, Both will certainly do the job but for my use the RAW is the better bench rest gun and the impact a little handier for hunting. The RAW is a better gun right out of the box. The impact is a platform gun to which much can be done to maximize the potential.

For me and for long range and bench I'd go RAW, I'll admit that the difference is minimal. I'm more of a rifle shooter then the bull pup guy

Thanks guys for heads up but I need help for roadblocks.

Btw, I am a decade and half competition shooter in archery for 30-50-70-90 meters so I know what the homework means. My sponsored archery equipment cost a fortune and a 1/2...:) but, Do to some injuries and surgeries and... I got to 60...I recognized it is a time to give a space to younger folks, so the next hobby will be the airgun shooting...Long ranges. Based on internet pictures most faces I will be facing the same old farts like myself :) so I have a good chance to show up....just give me a fork.

....I'd hold out for the Impact, im in BC and if AGS is waiting for the impacts probably going to be the power plenum version. That said the RAWs are made for benchrest so cant really go wrong with either. ...

I am waiting for my new "winter project gun" since October....in a month time this my snow melts hopefully (I am in Toronto area in ON) I go biking and watersports and all other outdoor cardio games, I will not be bored again probably until next snow time :)

...the idea of using a tuner to program them isn't too bad either...

"tuner" ??? what that means? A person or a machine?

The Red Wolf rifles have electronic triggers, regulator etc. They can be tuned with a hand held programmer.

Do you live in B.C. or Ontario?
