I Wasted my 6 Days!!!! And 1000s of Pellets.

I don't own any chronograph.
I have a Walther Dominator 1250 40j version. My friend gave me to use his Combro Chronograph Mk3.I was going to tune the airgun

The chrono was giving very bad string.i.e Fall and then Rise and again fall in the fps.I tested my gun for Six days and hell! nothing could I do.Same Results everytime and I thought it was fault with my airgun. Then Hsnmz a member of this forum(my friend) gave me his Caldwell chronograph. And In a few minutes tested my airgun and got the best string. My gun is now shooting at 950fps using 15gr pellets.and is extremely accurate.

The moral is that:::: Never trust the Combro Chronograph.

I tend to agree about the Combro. It mounts to the front of the barrel (or LDC), where the blast of air easily effects its accuracy. Their ads say otherwise, but based solely on the design, I wouldn't buy one on a bet! And what does one expect for less than $50?

The truth is, it is really hard to beat a cheap Crony F1, albeit sells for about twice the price of a Combro.

Alan have you ever used one? I did use one for years, but I switched to a Chrony type setup (the Caldwell G2 to be precise ) nowadays, because my laptop broke, and the caldwell talks (wireless via BT!) to my iOS devices, the Combro only spoke Windows. If I still had a functioning laptop I'd still be using the Combro!

NEVER have I experienced any accuracy problems or any problems with it, in fact quite the opposite. with the Chrony type you sometimes get your Error2 or Error3 (sensors missed) as there is a fairly large area where you can stick you muzzle and get readings. (meaning variation in angle and windage, and the senseors will take that and compute the delay into speed and energy. Whereas with the Combro, as it is fixed to the barrel you ALWAYS get exactly the same reading condition. So you can just shoot ahead and concentrate on the target only, without the added distraction of being lined up on the Chronoscope.

From experience with a Combro I can conclude that the blast of air does -NOTHING- detrimental to the accuracy. (which might be the case with the chrony sometimes as you get an unexplained error reading...)

In defense of the topicstarter I must say that my Combro is a Mk4. (which is an improved model of...you guessed it!) Hence maybe the unsatisfactory results he got...
