because of the better choices in slugs and heavier pellets? Asking because there a lot more accurate PCP,yet many of those PCP have been around for years.
Yes.because of the better choices in slugs and heavier pellets? Asking because there a lot more accurate PCP,yet many of those PCP have been around for years.
Very true…would need a lot of data for sure. Not really as easy of a comparison as it seems.lots of variant's to compare scores, wind and wind direction just to name a couple of them. Shooters and lanes ETC.
awesomeHere are some cherry picked groups I shot today with an old school HM1000X, using 44 JSB pellets at 100Y outdoors. #11 is likely the smallest 5 shot group I’ve ever shot at 100Y.View attachment 583917View attachment 583915View attachment 583914View attachment 583916
You want them grouped around the 6 ring? Thanks but I only wish ALL my groups looked like these ;(
There already is a slug challenge at Oregon's Extreme held in AshlandThe PCP 100yd benchrest sport is young. Money is being made...sufficient to support dedicated BR rifles being manufactured and available to the public. It would follow that more money should equal climbing scores. I expect that perfect scores (250-25X) will happen. Last year a 238-10X won the Pyramid Cup. I think I saw that a 240 was shot by somebody this Spring. BTW, the current rules only allow commercially available diablo pellets, no slugs.
When perfection becomes commonplace, the sport will change. Whether that involves a tougher challenge or adding a limiting factor, remains to be seen. I expect a separate slug competition will happen soon. All it will take is prize money.
Good! I hadn't seen mention of it. I would like to see these competitions move from local/regional to national. There already is a slug challenge at Oregon's Extreme held in Ashland
