I think I damaged my new Impact MKll

I was trying to adjust the power wheel and I think I messed up the ALAN KEY hole. Now the Alan key just turn and turn and screw won’t move


please advice

Easy fix. you can remove it and replace the screw. Can`t remember how to do it. But it issent that hard

Try a different hex key. You could have stripped the head of the screw but it’s more likely you are not engaging the screw head. Make certain you have a good fit before applying any force . If you have stripped the head of the screw a slightly large key may get you out of trouble . I forget the size it’s either a 1.5 mm or 2 mm I believe. It’s not a problem that can’t be solved with a new screw 

By the way the key you are using appears too large. If it’s too large it would do just what you are describing.

Just from the picture, that hex key looks too big for that particular screw. Also, it would take quite a bit of force to damage that particular screw. Are you sure that it is damaged? When the hex key is getting a little worn on the corners and slipping under high pressure I grind them down to new unused metal. Once lined up in a wallowed screw hole I tap the new key in a little to hopefully seat it into a tighter fit.

Yes definitely looks to big, if you dont go such a full rotation you wont be scratching the anodizing around it either. Can see you're getting greedy with rotation.

Earnest Rowe has a plastic sleeve of some sort on his Allen key right where it touches the gun. Could probably wrap in electrical tape to same effect.

I just came home and saw the postings, I am really happy that it not a big deal and can be fixed.

Even less ghetto than electrical tape would be a short section of heat shrink tubing

I just use shrink tubing on mine. Unless you crank on it like a Gorilla that shot be perfect! Best thing is it shrinks down to conform to the shape of whatever you put it over.

Have you try to use ball end hex screw?

They won’t work in that application.

Use the right size Allen wrench pretty sure it's a 1.5mm. Only adjust when the gun is not cocked. The last pic seems to show the screw stripped or heat shrink over it?

Well guys, today I finally got some time and I looked into my Impact. 

Nothing is wrong with anything, it was my fault. 

As everyone said, the alan key seems to be big and it was big.

I put the correct key today and checked the screw and everything is good.
