I now have 4 air rifles - again - and I'm perfectly happy: Updated 6/23/21

I'm the type of person who, when I get into a hobby, get's REALLY into a hobby. I like to try everything from the cheap to the expensive and make my decisions after hands-on experience. One of the unfortunate problems with most of my hobbies is that there is no storefront to buy from - it's all online purchases and either return or resell used. I try to resell used most of the time as I know many of the places I purchase from are small mom&pop stores and and returning a lot of stuff can really hurt a small companies profits to eat because that can't just be turned around again and sold as new (even though I know some bigger box airgun companies that do that).

It was 2016 when I got back in airgunning and heavily invested into PCP. I've definitely bought and sold 20+ air rifles in that time not because there was anything wrong with them. Some because I was bored and most because they just weren't up to my standards in some area: fit, feel, performance, triggger, tunability, precision, etc.

Now - as of December 2020 I am down to 4 air rifles (and a small assortment of PCP pistols) and I am very happy with them and want for nothing more when I browse the classifieds here or web stores. Well maybe a Delta Wolf, but only after it's been out for a bit and I see some reviews.

So here is my perfect list:

  • FX Ranchero Carbine .22 w/ Steve Corcoran stock
  • EVOL Mini .22
  • Leshiy 2 .22 / .25 / .30
  • 2020 Huben K1 .22

The Huben is still new to me as a trade for my Leshiy Classic. I am very happy with it so far. 65+ fpe in .22 is pretty insane.

Each one of the airguns in capable of hole-on-hole with the right pellet or slug.

6/23 update:

My 4 current rifles are:

  • Leshiy 2 (.22/.30)
  • Uragan Standard .30
  • Taipan Vet Standard .177
  • Cricket Carbine Mini .22

Interesting . . . I knew about the EVOL and L2 but didn't know the other two in your Final Four and am somewhat surprised with them. But really the only thing I see that's wrong with your list is that the EVOL Mini 0.22 should be in my safe and not yours! Oh well, some day!

I'm also down to four rifles at this time but am not going to try to fool myself into believing that this won't change over the next 3-6 months, especially with the Delta Wolf prowling around out there. Here's what I'm keeping in the safe for now:

  • Edgun Leshiy 2 0.25 350mm (25.4g JSB's @ 800fps)
  • FX Impact MkII PP 0.22 600mm slug liner (24.8g 218 NSA slugs @ 950fps)
  • FX Impact MkII PP 0.25 500mm STX pellet liner (25.4g JSB's @ 900fps)
  • Edgun Lelya 2 0.25 (25.4g JSB's @ 860fps)

I'm doing something with this year's collection that I didn't really do in the past - I'm actually shooting them and getting to know them better. As hard as it maybe to understand, spending more time with each gun has actually improved my groups!!! I never really tinkered with my guns in the past but it is quite satisfying to be able to set each one up to your liking and shoot repeatable groups with them! Go figure!

Buy at least 2 Delta Wolf's in case one craps out you know new model warning buyers remorse. Have one each 22 and 25 at least if one goes down I have another.

YOdoyle . . . I have no idea what you do/did for a living or how you have this much disposable income but I don't know of many people that can afford to (either financially or mentally) have 2 or 3 of every rifle. The 2 Impacts I'm keeping now is one of the very few times that I'm keeping two of the same make/model in my active rotation . . . and even with them set up in different calibers and shooting different projectiles, I still feel kind of guilty not swapping one of them out for more diversity.

Four is enough, eh? I said that a long time ago. I now have fourteen, but I've bought and sold a lot in between. Get your wallet out pal!

Four IS enough. In years past, I've always kept between 6-10 rifles around at any given time but never really shot any of them much. I wouldn't have room for them in the safe (I bought a smaller safe on purpose for this very reason) so were stashed away in the garage, bookshelf, etc. - which wasn't ideal. I find that with four, I still can't shoot them all but it does give me more quality time with each one. I actually think I could get away with three rifles because the Lelya hasn't fired a single pellet in like 6-8 months!

Retirement savings. I owned 7 companies over the years worked my butt off since the age of 5 raised from poor to middle class families I told myself screw that I'm never gonna be poor like them. Always worked for my own money even before I was adopted.

Always invested my money to earn on itself Like 8% annual from cash that would earn peanuts if left in a bank.

Bought thousands upon thousands of bulk cheap wholesale items from China and sold locally and on EBay bought for $1.00 and less items then sold for $10- $20.00 on eBay and Craigslist and local stores on consignment.

Imagine earning an extra 25k per month just using your own money to work for you on top of running 7 companies?

Could have been earning 5x to 10x profit as a TAC Vector optics dealer importing direct from China that's how I know scope mark up pricing and how warranty swap out for brand new scopes and toss warranty scopes into the trash they are made too cheap to pay employees to repair. Stuff made in China is shockingly cheap even high end Chinese stuff you will never believe it but I actually lived it. Had been involved in 3 FOB business women from China and Their families in International trade.

I also am taking a break buying expensive luxury and sports cars (bought several yearly) for now and am actually saving a lot of money buying airguns instead.

Plus the ex women (plural) used to spend what I currently spend anyway and I'm saving money now that she's (they) are all out of the picture.

You can easily earn free money every month by helping advertise companies products on your own it's residual income. Set it and forget it.

98% people's Mindset of working at a JOB kills the American dream. I worked my but off 3-4 jobs at a time and side businesses buying and selling before I did my own gigs then earned 100x more mmoney. Semi retired now.

Only negative you will end up getting sick of money for real. Make you real bored when you run out of stuff to buy you end up buying multiples of the same thimgs and attract gold diggers and thieves and the local Mafia.

Good for you man! Sounds like you earned it and earned the right to enjoy it. Import an r34 if they're legal there already, maybe a few more years I guess. You have a 25yr waiting period before importing from Japan here its 15.
