Check out pyramid air web site . The list the .25 G and it does show a barrel band.

So it can compete with the Urban 22 in distorting POI from day to day. I have an Urban and cut mine off, no problems now. Shoots consistently .45 groups at 35 yds.

I think with the gaunlet it's a serious problem not to have the barrel band....bump barrel and off.

You sir are correct. Umarex actually took my advise to the manufacturingThe .25 WILL have the barrel Band.
Most everyone in the know across the webs been stating such .... Weebles Wobble as do gauntlet barrels !!

I have 2 Gauntlets ( okay one is the neighbors in .22) that have never had this issue.

Barrel band or not?
I now have both 177 and 22 caliber Gauntlets with some work already done to them to smoothen out their cocking and triggers and the 177 exhibited occasional wandering POI at 50 yards until a Hajimoto barrel band was installed and now it consistently does sub 3/8 regularly with occasional 1/4s or better using the magazine and pellets straight out of the tin just inspected for skirt deformaties and I would say it is accurate and consistent enough to be a good candidate for an economy FT gun. Not so without the barrel band. The 22 did not exhibit any kind of wandering POI as the 177 did but I have another barrel band ready for it too that I have not installed yet. Just don't bump the barrel shroud or lean the gun on its shroud or put it in a rifle case or close it without a barrel band.
I want to dial the power down for the 177 because it is shooting close to mid 900s with heavies and close to 1000 with middle weights but am worried the accuracy might not be as good at a lower power level.
To this day I still can't believe these economy priced Chinese made airguns can attain this level of accuracy (with some amount work of course).
Both of these were new guns and not refurbs.
I must say that at $199 for the refurbs are fantastic deals and they have been gone through and tested before reselling so they may even be better than new ones.
They both shoot more accurately than any of the Crosman barrelled Marauders I shot at 50 yards.
Even some Discoveries and 2260 I shot were more accurate than the factory barrelled Marauders! LOL
I have to say that the Gauntlets are capable of holding their own regardless of their relatively cheaper price point. The only thing I don't like is they are very heavy guns to take out into the field for hunting.
