When I got to the range, a regular noticed I was shooting an air rifle and said he'd like to shoot one some day. So, after I got setup, I called him over and let him have a go. To set this up, I use 3 inch targets with half inch bullseye's at 75 yards.
I coached him on cocking, loading and getting the gun ready to shoot, and stepped back while he got the feel of the gun.
Fired one shot, SMILED and said, I'm not taking another shot, I might screw it up. He didn't want to mess up a perfect target with a bullseye on his very first shot out of a PCP.
I did encourage him to take at least one more, and no, not a bull, but only a half inch away.
Considering how much trouble I have doing that' was extremely jealous, but happy his first experience with an airgun was a GOOD experience.
After I got done shooting, I cut his target out of my paper and gave it to him. He was showing it to everyone when I left.
Love this sport!
