I LIED, FALSE HOPES

WENT OUT TO SHOT THIS AFTERNOON (97F), SHOOTING 2 IN LOW AT 12YDS. 43YDS AROUND 4IN. WHAT THE poop NOW. RAN A COUPLE PATCHES THREW THE BARREL. STILL SHOOTING LOW. DID A CHRONEY TEST, ONLY SHOOTING 580 FPS. FROM 700 FPS( CHECK THIS MORNING) LOOKS LIKE THE SEAL WENT. I DID NOT TAKE IT APART YET. I SHOT OVER A 100 PELLETS TODAY. ORDERED A NEW ONE FROM VORTEX.

I am guessing that it is your Diana that has gone rogue once more. If so, then I suggest you think about if it is worth further investment to correct the fault. There are some springers that are just bad news shooters, and it can be like throwing good money after bad as no matter what you do to them they never shoot well.

Michael- thats a great point. I have friends who are crack 22lr shots that can't hit a beer can with my best guns at 20 yards .?

Springers can be finicky buggers. Stock screw even tightness, barrel hinge pin proper tightness. As you figured a sudden decrease in velocity is usually a broken spring or a bad piston seal . The vortek kit will take care of that. Good luck with the repairs, keep us posted.

I'm not a springer person at all but set one up for FT anyway, would have gone nuts if I couldnt have handed it to other experienced springer shooters. Heck I had someone else do the final scope dope, but the rifle did shoot.



Yours seems a bit of a, challenge. 

Thinking about what your first ( warranty work right?) looked like - fired and slammed- and how much have you really fired it on the newest seal?

If you've the ability do check for out of round tube, hey and any and everything. I would be shocked if just switching brand name on the seal ( but do try a JM) makes any long turn difference but do keep us posted.

Dave unless you inadvertently damaged the seal during installation I’d fit the larger seal and see how that goes. If this or the vortex seal doesnt work I’d be asking for my money back. 

By the way Ive seen some great artwork useing dud airrifles and concrete?
