I know it's a Silver Streak but ...

I mentioned I bought an old Sheridan Silver Streak C-9 when I joined this awesome forum and I never posted about it since. It's the gun that got me into air guns. :) It's a wonderful shooter and I really like the .20cal. My question is, roughly what year might this be? Is there anything special about it other than it's old? No better place to find out than to ask the experts here!! Another question, if you had this, would you sell it to fund a newer PCP gun or am I stupid to even consider it??

Sheridan Original C Series mfg. from 1949 to 1976 till Benjamin bought out Sheridan (Their competitor) Silver streak designates that chromed look nickel finish while blue streaks were black. That model still continued till 1992 when Crosman bought out Benjamin.

I'd keep it if I were you and buy an Air Venturi scope mount adapter and a decent scope like a $50 Barska 2-7x32AO Mildot airgun scope cheap but won't break the bank keep you shooting with added longer range precision.

I put a scope on a buddies C9 and it shot decent at 50 yards inch to inch and a half.

Would probably been better group wise if I was used to all that pumping though.

By the pump handle, some time after 1991. You can find a little more info here: https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2006/01/three-principal-sheridan-variations/ and even more using whatever your favorite search engine might be.

While it may not be an older version, they're still worth some since they're not made anymore and at least to me worth keeping even being one of the newer version Silver Streaks.

Here is the CO2 powered Silver Streak with Williams receiver sight. A fun gun to shoot except for the heavy trigger. Some people (read "Consumer Product Safety Commission) truly believe a heavy trigger is safer than a light one.

You can get that trigger down to 12-16 ounces depending. I would be sure to get a spare sear first before doing any work to it.

Wow ... if it's that new then I will definitely let it go. I like old and was under the impression that it was maybe 1970's with a serial number 116981. Oh well. It is an accurate shooter and fun to shoot. 70's and earlier is old. Like me. Hahahaha Thanks for the link. :)

I looked at that link near the bottom. The trigger guard and safety are totally different in that pic. So I'm leaning towards it's in the 1990's. Probably not worth anything being that new either I would suppose. :( I'm looking at getting the new Avenger PCP. I don't think this would offset much of the cost so I will probably hang on to it. Bummer. Oh well ... this is why I'm here. To learn. :)

1990s that's just shy of 30 years old.

A 397 or 392 purchased 5 years ago is too new IMHO...

PLUS 20 caliber BENJAMIN GUNS havent been manufactured ever since being discontinued.

The thing that threw me was Benjamin is nowhere on the gun . Only Sheridan which I thought had gone out quite awhile ago. LOL Meh .. it is what it is. A good shooting gun.

Hello air gunners, I found this site while looking around to get info on a Pellet gun that was left to me when dad passed years ago, It is a Sheridan Products "Silver Streak" I got on crossmans page and looked it up it is a 1957 but dont know what cal it is nowhere on the rifle does it tell. any info would be helpful . Thanks in advance !
