I just digested something......

If your parental units didn’t apprise you of the wisdom of switching hands, I genuinely feel sorry for you. 😂😂
Sure, so what about the retired contractors with bad rotator or ac joints from constant overhead work? Both my shoulders aren't what they used to be, being a mechanic for over 20 years and now I'm in the electricians field. Someday it just friggin hurts to pop those barrels down no matter which arm I use.

And if you must know, they did teach me right from left... I just prefer my right hand. Lefty just feels like a stranger and the right one thinks I'm cheating!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I spent 48 years hands on in the manufacturing world. The last ten maintaining an Amazon type automated warehouse.
Next time around I’ll pay more attention in skool. 😂

Air gunning for those who who just grab & shoot the Springer is king. No muss, no fuss outside servicing chores. Not a lot to say ...

PCP shooters trend more HOBBY, and the tweaking and modification bug is much stronger & therefore much more conversation bias.
I use my PCPs like you describe the “springers” above. Other than the TP knob, no tinkering, modding, etc. Fill and shoot…

For those with problems cocking a big ole springer (or in the ole days...don't they have gun porters that does the cocking and loading for you???)

Springers do what they do, and some do it quite well. But the design has plateaued. By comparison, the PCP world has increased power by 20 percent on some models and some even more, increased air efficiency, adapted to slug use. Reaching up to 50 percent farther than 6-7 years ago. If the springers started to achieve these gains theoretically- their traffic and postings would increase proportionally.
Yes and after all that development, PCPs still don't hold a candle to powder burners. I have a bunch of springers for fun and powder burners for getting serious. As of now there's no itch a PCP will scratch better for me than a springer or PB.

Other people will have different situations where PCPs are a good fit for them. I'm just not one of them. I love my springers simply because they make me feel like a kid again and no PCP will ever do that.

I have a Benjamin Discovery. Used it 2-3 times. Too loud and a nightmare to pump. Unnecessary power. The chances of me even seeing a tree rat at 100 yds is slim to hill. I found most tree rat shots were 20 to 30 yds. Perfect for the springer. Also for plinking they’re a challenge. I have several springers and they all a joy to shoot. Crow

Because spring-piston guns are simple, low maintenance and easy to use in a quick situation they don't get the chat.

Many that have both know they are two different beasts. One takes much practice to use proficiently. The other not as much. However both can be very accurate in the right hands.

I'm one of the few that tried pcp and went back to spring-piston guns. Mostly the simple operation and maintenance. If it works don't change it syndrome.

As far as cocking a spring-piston air rifle. Crack barrel, load pellet. Cock with both hands. 1/2 the resistance of even a 50lb cocking effort.
