HW/Weihrauch I have my HW50 tuned great,at first I hated it because it did not perform the way people were bragging about it.

I knew it had a great trigger, but it was a rough firing,I had to put at least 1000pellets before it started to calm down.I then put a AH tune kit in it and it was the way it should have been, all good now...light accurate springer.Shooting JSB Exact heavy 10.34 good pellet for mine.
I got done shooting it and grabbed my R-9.20. Wow, so much heavier, I had some old gold can JSB Exact Match Diabolo 0.890gr. I was wondering why so light, anyhow my R-9 loved them .Shooting at 28 yds I was getting all touching, less than 1/2" about ten shoots....My thoughts are that the accuracy was because of the weight of the R-9. Solid, the .20 is a great caliber...I also have a AH tune kit in it.Bought it in 2008 btw The old cocking shoe broke and I installed the new one, they are so much better.

I have mine tuned to 12 fpe with a Vortek kit and other than the last two inches on the cocking stroke it is awesome. The last two inches requires some oomph and two arm cocking stroke is advised.

The .22 hits a freight train on soup cans, spinners and the occasional pest bird. Kind of a loopy trajectory but I shoot at fixed distances so it balances out.

Excluding the HW30/R7 in 177 caliber, the HW95/R9 in .20 caliber was out-of-box most accurate Weihrauch I have ever had. I think the weight/velocity ratio of those two guns are the sweet spot in the Weihrauch lineup. Only one ever better was the HW55. Long discontinued. By starting on the R9 in .20 it is hard to get better from there.

I de-tuned my HW95(R9) down to 12 fpe with a Vortek kit, and now it shoots with all the pleasant characteristics that we all strive for.
Mine was awful so it went back under warranty and came back smooth as glass.
The tech said that he polished and lubed the internals.

Got the ARH Plinkers kit installed. Around 710 fps and smoothest shooting with 8.4 JSB in mine.
I have an ARH plinkers kit in one of my .177 50s. It shoots JSB 8.4s at 700fps, a bit over 9fpe. Excellent setup. I have that kit on my bench waiting to go into my other 50s.

That is the kit I used,it really helped; before that I was always thinking the .177 was not the right cal. for that springer.
Too many .177 springers are going too fast for the pellet ....a generality, but when tuning down the power level all my springer shoot better....Another reason I like .22 better than .177......Also think it is more about the spring than anything else.
Matching the pellet weight to power level wanted.....does not always work because you also want the most accurate pellet and that could be a lighter one......then the head size and this and that........crazy thing is some air rifle are not picky and some are beaches, real picky.
Why is that? Again I think .......barrel? This or that, maybe lucky pick.

I've only had mine a couple weeks. Been shooting the 30s since last August. It sure is a lot more work like every has said. Now to make up my mind on a 95 or 97
Also mine is spot on open sights at 10-out to 15 meters. Got lucky maybe but the 30 was too. The FP AG rear sight by Williams works on both.

I have both the 95 and 97. I actually have four 95 family guns and nine other Weihrauchs. My 97K is my least used rifle. It's porky weight and clunky loading keep it in it's case. I shoot seated at a table and maneuvering it's weight to load every shot is less endearing than my lighter rifles.

The accuracy on my 177 97 is excellent but then again so is the accuracy on my 177 95. They flip flop being the 50 yard top dog. It really comes down to which one has a better working tin of pellets.

I agree with Mycapt65,My 97 is a .22,I am glad it is,I think it can be more accurate than the 95 only because it is heavier.
The HW95 is I think a better field rifle , like walking with and just shooting for fun, easier to load and aim.
Can not bad mouth the HW97,great springer, but for me the HW95 is a easier springer to just have fun with.,my R-9 is.20,that the best cal. for it,but hard to get....I then more likein a .22 for all around use,I have big fingers and .22 easier for me to load.....
