I get to try and tear up something interesting Harbor Freight Rifle Hard Case

So I was talking to my store manager and we were discussing just how strong our Apache rifle case is

We decided to find out so here is the plan so far

Strength, we are actually talking about running over the case with a pickup truck. But at the very least we are going to do a three man standing on top of the case.

Drop test from ten feet

Water resistant test

Pressure test see how air tight it is

..,..............

Any more ideas shoot them my way let me know

1BadDart- there are 2 latches on my case, as compared to 4 on the 1700 Pelican. The latches are smaller being approx 1 7/16" wide compared to the 2" on the Pelican. They are a positive clasping action. The interior dimensions on my case that was the largest at the time is 14 3/4"x10 5/8" There are 3 pieces of foam, a base that is approx. 1" thick. The middle part is segmented or pre-sliced and is approx. 3 1/4" thick. The top section is egg crate type with the lumps and is approx. 1 1/2" thick. The foam is the same quality that is in the UTG cases. It has 2 metal shielded holes for adding a lock with a hole that is about 3/8" Their is a pressure release valve (air travel) and the hinges and handle are pretty tough, I don't know if stainless is used on the metal, and the seals would no doubt work for rain weather etc. I don't know if the case would survive a submersion test. I picked it up on sale for under 30.00 There is now a larger model available. For a hand gun, Leishy, or camera equipment it's a fine value.

Smash it with a sledgehammer. Do a open hinge test try to rip the lid off. Try to break the latches by any means see sledgehammer. Try to break or rip the handle off see sledgehammer and add pry bar. Chuck it out of a moving vehicle at highway speed providing you can legally, or on a backcountry road you know gotta be responsible when doing stupid. Put some eggs in it for some of the tests to see how it protects your items.

Well you have the right screen name anyway.

Do we have a little bit of anger issues lol

When HF first introduced their Pelican clone cases, I grabbed a few right away.
I planned on stashing my high end photography equipment in them..
I always look stuff up on Youtube when I get bored, so, that's what I did back then..
There were a handful of vids where people were throwing them, drop testing them, driving over them, etc.

The plastic would gouge a bit easier, the latches would break easier, mostly due to the connecting pins..
They're not high grade steel / stainless steel - as shown in one of the videos..

For the $ though, they work great, and, they are definitely water resistant.

Insanity mentioned the 'egg test', that's been done in a few YT vids also..

If you still end up thrashing on yours, Have fun! =D
