Long story short. I had to replace the little 2x1 oring in the back and accidentally slipped with a tool and dented the delrin seat. Now what? Do I need to replace the whole valve rod? Or does it screw apart somehow?
If it's anything like my Crown, there is a retaining sleeve that can be knocked off. But it never goes back on as tight. You'd need to turn down another piece of delrin, assuming you can get that one off.
I'd honestly just replace it. I have an extra valve for my fx among a couple other spares
You can buy the complete rod assembly from FX or source a new seal and install it yourself. Looking at your picture, heat the part right of the delrin with a lighter until just too hot to touch and unscrew the part behind the delrin. Hold it in a vice or something. If it doesn't turn easily heat it a little more to release the locktite. Be careful not to twist too hard and break it.
If you check out the FX site it shows that you can replace just the valve pin part "B28 7064 Valvepin complete Impact". Locktight should be applied so it will likely take a bit of heat to remove it from the rod.
If you can source a new pin as said you will need heat to remove these they are glued and a pain to get off, i make a new seat out of peek and replace the Delrin one but they are tricky to get off
I ordered a new valve rod assembly from fx usa and slapped it in. They sent it with shipping included for about 27$. I am very pleased with their professionalism and quick service.
