Just had Krale order a HW98 in .20 cal. for me. I have a HW95L in .22 and a .177 barrel. I also have a HW50 in .20 that I love. Hope this one lives up to my expectations. Anyone else have any experience with this rifle specifically in .20?

I bought an R9 in .20 but converted to an R11 adding the stock and barrel weight. I added a Macarri spring kit and the piston is glided. It's topped with a Hawke 6-24x50 Airmax and I used it on occasion for FT matches with JSB 13gr pellets.

I picked one up last year. Great rifles. Mine has the Macarri kit as well. JSB 13’s are slightly better than the FTT’s in mine.

I have one that I tuned with a Vortek PG3 kit. It shoots like a laser. Also have one on .177. You should be able to find the comprehensive write-up I did on the .20 in this forum probably nine months ago.

I put the Macarri kit in my 95L .22 last year really made it shoot nice and got rid of the terrible twang. I suspect this one will get the same treatment as I can't stand the spring twang or have the patience to "shoot it in". All my HW's have required a kit to get rid of the spring noise. I assume it's the same kit for a 95 or 98 right? I love the look of that rifle.

As Mike pointed out, yes same kit. I put one in my .22 R9 also and it was perfect. In the HW98 I felt the cycle was a little harsh so i removed one of the collapsed coils and really smoothed things out. It’s shooting the JSB 13’s at 720 ish for right about 15.8 fpe.
