This is my first full season with my HW97. Last year I only had a few months before winter. It was a learning experience with much trial and error. By October the HW was in the closet for a long winter’s nap. With a warm May the squirrels were venturing out. My shooting distance is 45 yards or less. With my bird feeder as an attractant I’m finding just how incredibly accurate the HW is. Squirrels and feral pigeons are providing the local coyotes and foxes with evening dinner. Just last week I saw my first wolf eating a pigeon. Gonna be a fun season. Thank you HW97.

Had my HW97 2 years now and it only gets more accurate the more i shoot it.
Got mine from A O A and had them install a tune kit before they sent it. I shoot H & N field target trophy 8.64 gr. hitting a one inch target at 40 yards most every time but every gun has its fliers.
Cant rember the pellet speed but calculated to 12 and a half foot pounds .
If rou notice an accuracy change check the stock screws. mine came loose soon after i got it but when i snuged them up my accuracy realy got good.

Seem like super nice guns. Did they stop making it in the blue laminate stock ? Don’t seem to be able to find that version anywhere.
The HW97k is one of my favorite Weihrauch rifles. Highly recommended. I have seen the laminate stock models offered occasionally at different vendors. Krale and Mundilar will have them in stock, set an email notification. I think I received three or four notifications on different models last year.

Another route is Custom Stocks UK.

HW97 .177 , expertly tuned down to 11.6 FPE by Tony in PA. I only take brain shots , otherwise they get a pass , till later . Now i want to get my HW77 long tuned to around 10 FPE in .22 . ( wish it was a .20 that would be a dream to have )
Hw77.. long .. im jealous..😢. Maybe one day .. yes one day ..lol

I personally think that 77 is the better gun in under levers. (Opinion)

77 long is a heavy rifle , the lefty i have (used slightly ) is in .22 and a greenish laminate stock . IF it was .20 i would have it tuned down a bit . Had it for sale @ Midwest show , no takers .

I tried a 10 - 11 fpe tune on my .22 Pro Sport and it was too loopy of a trajectory out to 55 yards. I had to put a 2-7x32 with a droop mount on the rifle because of the loopiness.

Best pellet is the JSB RS 13's. I can see them flying through my scope.

Moral of the story; 12 fpe is the lowest fpe I recommend for .22's.

My 77 is straight from the factory so i think 14 FPE (need to crony it ) Maybe i will just have it Polished for a smoother cycle?

Yes. Perhaps a Vortek or Macari kit but 700ish fps is perfect for .22 springers. Plus all that leverage with the under lever makes it an all day shooter.

I have a HW97 in .177. It has a Vortek kit and is shooting around 700 fps also. I don’t shoot it often, but it's a great rifle. I have relatives in the NC mountains who like to shoot, and I take the HW97 when we visit. It's perfect for that kind of travel, just grab the rifle and pellets and go!
