My neighbors are close on each side. About 20 yards. I own both the .22 and .177 HW97s. Both shoot between 14.5 to 15 FPE. Both these underlevers are quieter than all my other springers including AA TX200 and pro sport and various Diana's. I have received no complaints and I shoot frequently. The sound output is mechanical like a staple gun. No significant muzzle output. Compared to my Daystate Regal .22 with full Hugget shroud and ldc, the hammer slap sound output is about the same level as the mechanical sounds of the HWs. To my ears, the wooden stock seems to damp the sound output just a little bit vs synthetic.
