HW95 field pro 177 cal, update

There's almost always a gap behind the compression tube. If the stock and action slide at all, theres a problem. There's always a little wiggle room in a stock to align the screw holes. Usually the stock is registered securely to the action by the fit and clamping force of the trigger guard. If your stock moves on the action something isn't fitted or assembled correctly or the the screws are not sufficiently tight.
The trigger guard should drop over and straddle the trigger adjustment screw tang.
Assemble stock with all four screws loosely,
then snug them
Torque front trigger guard to 44 inlbs
Torque Rear trigger guard to 15 inlbs
Then tighten front side screws to 22 inlbs.

Make sure the cocking arm can be easily wiggled with the gun closed.

Thank you for the torque information . I’m just concerned I bet the gap is 1/8 inch . I will make sure the action is forward then tighten They could use a recoil lug like a powder burner. Thank you 🙂

One day i figure ill get nice cap washers for the forend screws to help fill that gap between the woods hole and sctew head better ..lol.

But heck I've even had to glue in washers for synthetic stocks .

Even had one snap the forend screw

The recoil lug is basically the trigger guard and the stock conforming to the screws and stock hanger bracket. I'm familiar with bedding stocks. These are different

It seems new is not as good as old.
After you get that many pellets through it, it should be a lot better.
If not and you want to keep it put a "tune kit" in it.
Oh and shoot heavier pellets through it. My 95 is a heck of a lot better than my 50!
It is too early to judge,I think .177 should not be overpowered,I just put the 12lb. kit in my HW50, which was also harsh.
You know what I am thinking is this, HW springers are not as good as they used to be .. judging
by the complaints I read. Like lower standards of workmanship.
Many years ago there were not enough workers in Germany and they imported more.
Maybe the machinery is not as crisp,I really do not know, other than older is better.
;)
I have 3 HW 95s , 1 hw98 , 2 hw97 , 1 hw 50, 1 hw30, 1 hw57 only the first hw95 and the two 97’s Have been great and haven’t needed any work on them. All my other ones have needed work. I just took one apart last night that I was really trying not to, but It got increasingly harder to break the barrel open and it sounded really bad too. I had to take it apart and I found the spring in three pieces and the guide severely bent. This was a brand new HW 95 field pro. Only about 500 rounds though it and a very short amount of time I spent hours at a time shooting trying to fast track the break in period , plus I’m constantly shooting pellet guns. I feel like they must be rushing them out of the factory to try to keep up with the cheaper ones that are made now.

the sun was shining Got Chrono out got this #s Crosman 7:9 hollow point high of 929 low 911. 18 difference. HN Baracuda Hunter extreme 9.59 gr. High 855 low 849 6 spread. AA. Diablo field 8.44 gr. High of 901 low 894. Spread 7. JSB exact heavy Diablo 10.34 gr. High 810 low 804 spread 6. All 5 shots seems to like the better grad of pellet 😁 not a cheap date . if it would just stop make the sound of running a file over soft steel every time I cocked it
I sent mine back under warranty and it is smooth as glass now. I called and asked AoA what they found and did, and they said that the piston was scored and they polished and re-lubed it. That is about all they would elaborate on.
