For those of you who have tried the HW Moderator on the HW77K how did it work? I was looking for a way to quiet this rifle down a bit. It has a Vortek kit in it already.

It absolutely does make a difference. You'll hear it on your end some but its even more noticeable down range.

I have one on my 77K and it makes a noticeable difference. Well worth having if noise is an issue

Hey Tony, sounds like you already got your question answered but I'll add another in the pro column. I had the HW moderator on a green laminate stocked HW77k in. 177 a few years back. Absolutely decreased the sound of the gun being shot. But made it REALLY long. That gun + moderator felt like a Garand fitted with the bayonet.

Damn what a great looking stock Cole. Yeah it does make it longer, but if that is what I need to quiet it down I guess that’s what I will do.

I once order an R1 from Jim Maccri and had a conversion with him about moderators on springer's.
His answer was that you will see about a 30% reduction in noise, but you can not reduced the mechanical noise.

Like mine on the HW77k but made the HW77 long in the tooth. Slides right over along the front sight, cocking assembly with a cross brace with two allen screws. IMHO, works some according to my ears (LOL). Good install video on Youtube.
