HW50S carving on stock

On the bottom side of the stock where you place your trigger hand there is a “DR” carved into both sides of the stock. Does anyone know what this means.

If I am not mistaken that is the stock maker for that particular run of HW50's. What maker DR is, I don't know. I think that Minelli made some and they had an M within a circle. I am not 100%.........but I think that is correct.

My older Hw50 has an "M" for Minelli on the grip. I do not know who supplies the stocks for the more recent models.

I have been wondering about that as well and was going to post the same question. I assumed it was some sort of makers mark from the stock manufacturer and I guess I was thinking it was an AR but I guess I can now see it being a DR as well. I don't believe I have seen similar mark on my HW30 or HW98 at least not one as obviously visible as this one but I suppose I should take a closer look to be sure.

I wonder if anyone at Weihrauch owners group would have any info on these....

I'm with u Wayne. It's NR. I use that style to sign my initials.

After taking a closer look at my HW50 its possible that it could be LVR as well although I am leaning towards LNR as well.

I have sent a request to Weihrauch so hopefully they will clarify the carving. I’m still saying it’s DR as if you look closely at the R you will see that there are no rounded lines and the D is the same

I agree HeyU all I wanted was to know what it stood for. I now know that it identifies the stock maker but no one yet can give me a definitive answer. Let’s hope weihrauch replies soon, the suspense is killing me

The right horizontal line on the "N" is used as the horizontal line of the "R". Makes sense to me !

That very well could be it as well King ! The short horizontal line at the bottom of the far left vertical line looks like the leg of an "L".
