HW50 is coming along

Slowly but surely the HW50 and JM stock are coming along. Been really busy this year so very limited shop time. I bought the gun and stock last winter. Made delrin spring guide and top hat. Cleaned out the factort grease and reassembled with minimal JM moly. Vortek seal. UTG rings with no stop pin (haven't slipped yet and I don't expect them to) holding a Hawke 2-7 x 32 AO. Assembled it all in the JM stock. Almost finished with a delrin muzzle brake. Needs little details and buffed.

The brake isn't driven on all the way. It adds 1 inch to the length for the slightest leverage advantage.

That stock looks great. So much better than the current factory HW stocks being made. I wish JM still made those. Good idea on getting rid of the factory seal and grease and going with the Vortek seal. I did the same thing on my HW rifles. I also went with JM springs.

Looks great! I've got a Hawke 2-7x32 as well; I've had it nearly a decade at this point. It's been on a ton of guns, but always stays in the collection. Such a handy magnification range for lower powered airguns.

Is it a .177? I feel that the HW50S is made for the .177 and vice-versa. At 10-11 fpe it just makes a killer combo.

I'm soon going to install an ARH tune kit in mine and I've been eyeing the CS700 stock. We'll see...

It's 177.
That CS700 stock looks so RIGHT on an HW50. See the Tinbum video on YT. Now I want another 177 HW50 with it.

The HW50 is the Goldilocks' of the Weihrauch lineup. More power than the HW30, weighs less than the HW95 and shoots at an easy 12 fpe. The Vortek kit in mine has a very satisfying "thunk" shot cycle. For a lefty, the standard stock is very nice.

This thread has me thinking about a 50S. Would like a gentle rifle for a peep sight I can toy with vs my tuned hot rods. That is one ugly stock, though. Like the one the op has a lot but it appears no longer available.

Ok, I finished the brake last evening. I like them longer and slim like a short sleeve. 3/4” dia. No screws or marked barrel. Interference fit.
I’m going to shelf the Beeman brake on my R7 and make , a Delrin brake for it now.
