HW50 guide

As expected my HW50 had some vibration. So I made a top hat and a guide to fit the factory washer with it’s 45 degree seat. Sits a few thou proud of the washer. Had to shorten the guide 5/16” to allow the top hat. Delrin machines so nice n easy. No other pictures. I get in a groove when I’m working.
Installed a Vortek seal and it’s not run in yet. I saw 780 fps so far.
Twangone!

Nice work….its the way i go, not 2 of the same materials for the Guide rod and the washer.
VMach retained the OEM steel washer, when machining their custom guide kits.
It prevents pick up of same materials, which causes degradation of the 2 surfaces.

You can get the end of your guide rod perfectly flush with the base of your washer by chucking the guide rod length (with the washer on it) and pushing the guide into the chuck, hard against the washer and tightening the jaws. You then just skim the base of the delrin guide until flush.
It needs to be flush.
