HW50 .22 @ 50 yards....really?

I need to pull out my old 48 and see how it does. That's a great group. Never seen a 48 in stainless. Very cool.

Thank you...coming from you that's a compliment!!

And the 48 is not stainless. Just the lighting. ..lol..

Here's another pic....it's a t05 and it is one heck of a shooter. I still think it can shoot better than I am capable of coaxing out of it...

I thought i would join in the fun. The video is crap but it’s uninterrupted and shows the distance and groups. The second group in the photo is no larger then one inch and it was a bit breezy so I’m happy. My rifle is straight out of the box, the barrel was never cleaned and she has about 1000 alloy pellets through the barrel. The scope is a 3*9*40 Airmax and is set for 25 metres. I was holding over about 1.5 mil dots.

Nice job!!!

Thanks by the looks of all the pics we are in the same ball park. I just took seven shots at 30 metres, what a difference of 20 metres makes

No doubt. That 20 makes a BIG difference. Those tiny angles of divergence make a large spatial difference over that distance. I saw a large difference when I went from 20 to 30! I'll never forget the first time I stretched my targets to 50. It's what made me keep hunting around 25 for a LONG time until I got better!!

For me shooting at say further then 40 metres I have trouble keeping the cross hairs on target. It seems the further the distance the more movement I get through the scope. I know I keep the same technique be it a close or long shot but the movement in the scope corresponds to where the pellets land in my case.

Gary

Yes. At those distances sometimes dialing back the magnification will help a little...... it removes some of that visual effect, and let's you focus more on when to pull the trigger.

Do you focus on your breathing cycle???

I used to but now it just seems a natural part in pulling the trigger. I used to try different breathing patterns to get the best and most consistent accuracy and for me. I’ve found a normal heart rate, a mild intake of air, exhale some and pull the trigger works best fo me. What I’ve found is that this technique gives me better consistency. Sort of like which part of your trigger finger do you use.
I don’t believe my technique is what the professionals use but hey it works.

I use this most expensive scope on my other HW50S from Swarovski called the "Z3" from many moons ago for 3-9X 40mm image in a 1 inch tube.

That rifle never misses with the limits (35 yards) to hit a solid 1.5" diameter disc of reactive steel lined up 4 at a time with a top 5th flapper disc of steel to release the other four when you hit them all.

I really think 45 yards is "my" limit with all springers except the Hector Special D54 .20 in Heavy pellets. It is not the easiest to reload and shoot again but if it was a mission to make the first shot count at any distance the specialized rifle has to be the one to take it.
