Took it out to the max for this little springer. 50 yards with wind and 7x scope. Pretty pleased for the distance with a springer.

thats decent for a springer for sure .. i got one that will do that, its the cold shots and random flyers that get me though .. its still a good gun to plink with and i can even nail things as small as a chicken egg out to my fence at 80 within a shot or two, why its the only springer i have left ..

That looks pretty nice to me. I have taken my HW50 .22 out to 45 yards so far and the groups were not as nice as yours. I’ve been spoiled by pcp rifles and don’t have the skills perfected for my springers at longer ranges.

I need to get my hw50 sighted back in I had a scope bite the dust. Mine likes the predator gto pellets the best at 25 yards with the pellets I’ve tested so far. I have not shot past 25 yards yet. I do have H&N field target trophy’s in 5.53-5.55 to try yet as well. I’m hoping it likes them because they are cheaper than the alloys.

I tried shooting mine at 50-75 yards.... I was hitting cans at 70 sometimes, but my skill is seriously lacking in the springer department. Nice shooting! Mine seems to prefer AA 16gr diabolos

Agreed about those random flyers. I even deformed a skirt to see its effect and it stayed within the group. I've seen a few videos where some spiral, some tumble. I think it must often be due to unequal weight distribution. I think the skirt I manually deformed must have straightened out when the pressure propelled it forward. I often muse over those oddball shots. Sometimes it is me, and I know it...sometimes there's no explanation.
However, I still challenge you to a shoot out. My springer vs whatever you choose, and I'd be fine out to 100 yards if you like. My property only allows around 50, but I have access elsewhere....

Ok. Glenroiland. I pulled out my HW50.177 with the vortek kit and 12x scope. This cut the group size by almost half. About three quarter inch groups. Let's see what you've got? Lol. Included is the one flyer we hate so much on the group that had the greatest promise. Arrrggg.

Crap. I wasn't challenging you, lol.
But when my stock dries after my fix, I'll post some at 50.
Until then I'll look up some of my Diana 48 targets that were 50...

Gee I've got both style rifles in .20 and the only difference in accuracy is the range. Over 45 yards the sidelever D54 .20 under 45 yards either one of the HW50S .20s I own!

I need to pull out my old 48 and see how it does. That's a great group. Never seen a 48 in stainless. Very cool.
