HW30 Tune Advice Request

"Richardo"A stock standard HW30S is a really good gun, and I have yet to see a “tuned” one out shoot a non tuned one.
Mine will put pellet on pellet at the distance I shoot it. 10-15 yards. But I’m not looking to “out shoot” it, I’m looking for a more pleasant shooting experience, even though in stock form is not bad. I want a thud, not a twang.

Christian “may the twang be with you”. I know where your coming from when I shoot my LGV it’s just a thunk and that feeling is spoiled when I shoot the 77. I personally haven’t installed a tuning kit but I’m seriously now thinking on a V-Mac kit. The chap that is sending me the stainless screws runs a business selling and tuning HWs. He has done very detailed steps with pics etc. Here’s the link if you search you will find part 2 and 3 etc

You don't have to spend more than a few bucks to tame your HW30. Taking it apart, polishing all parts (up to 2000 grit, mirror finish), and removing all factory grease replacing it with the slightest amount of good quality grease and some graphite powder on the piston, will do absolute wonders! Combine this with a sleeve from delrin over the spring guide, and it will remove all twang, resulting in one fine shooter. I've done this on more rifles than I can count.

Taming a springer isn't rocket science, and you don't have to spend $$$ on parts, because you can all do it by your self. All it takes is some elbow grease and patience. ;)

"intenseaty22"So are these Delrin sleeves available for purchase on their own? Link? Thanks!
Sure, I get them from Krale Schietsport in The Netherlands. They ship all over the globe. Those Tinbum sets are great, I've used them in all my springers. But they're not that hard to make, if you have the tools. ;)

Thanks! I’m familiar with them, actually bought my LGV from them.

"Crutcherro1"Christian,
You may want to check this out. I found this info on TBT site. The Krale shipping looked high for their sleeve kit.

TBT also has the sleeve kits.

You know, I had noticed that. The LGV was like $30 to ship, was looking at their dedicated trigger, was like $25 or more to ship. I was like WTF?! Seriously??? Anyway......

Thank y’all for all the advice. Much appreciated!
