My squirels always run and do a lot of acrobatics, bury themselves and such, and I am shooting holes right through their head with 22 LR hollow points.
My HW30 is a .20 cal, and fairly weak compared to my Sheridan, which is monster squirrel gun, but then again I have made some crazy long range kills with the Sheridan, which may equal the FPE of the HW30 at closer ranges..my gut feeling from plinking with the HW30 is that it would have no problem dispatching squirrels that are closer in.
