Hw30 cocking mechanism rubbing any fix

Has anybody figured out a fix for the arm that rubs against the reciever tube when you cock the rifle it rubs and is wearing into the reciever.I know other hws have a plastic piece inserted in there'.

I tried putting a piece of plastic in there but the tolerance of fitting and then putting in that pin that holds the arm down i couldnt get it to work properly

Jim Maccari sells a piece of plastic made for that very purpose. I has to be fitted though.

Mine was binding badly and there was no room for an insert when I got it. It even interfered with barrel lockup. Here are some pics that I took of it a few years ago when I got it. The problem was due to the cross pin (seen on left side of 6th photo) being positioned too high so the cocking lever would not slide without binding, even when disconnected from the barrel. The knuckle on the shorter part of the lever assembly also needed some relief.
