Need help deciding.. I love both but can only afford one, lol. Anyone own both or handled both?

HW110 carbine ..go traditional or thumbhole stock?

Go with traditional stock. I have mine in .22. It's a laser just hope you like insanely light triggers. Mine came set at 5 oz from the factory

I love the laminate... though mostly used to 'thumb up' (more or less) with rifles; never owned or shoot pistol-grip like on rifles.
(That traditional style, synthetic stock version is $300 less.). But damn that laminate. Lol.

Of the 2 choices I'd def. go with the Lam. thumbhole, plastic always looks cheap, my first choice is always nice walnut, which shouldn't be a problem on $2500 guns.

Always go for the most expensive that way you won't look back later slap your forehead and say I shoulda... ;^)

Haha.. sorry didn't intended to be such. Was one of those things where you keep looking at..can't decide; all logic is loss. Needed a boost of peer insight. (Then somehow logic re-aligns and you go duh.) Thanks again you guys! Finally added this Honda (I think) of a PCP to the collection.

My experience is with the HW100, of which I have two. The adjustable comb was a requirement for me, so I have the laminate TH stock on both, great rifles.

Depends on how you shoot with it. Thumbholes for hunting are not good for me if I need to shoot to the opposite side and change hands. When changing hands, the thumb hole wont work well. Lot more versatility in a non-thumbhole, if you hunt with it and need to be able to change hands to make a shot. YMMV

@bdmoody Interesting never thought about... I do shoot with both left or right; though southpaw overall. I guess will need to play with it once I take delivery to see what you mean. I can only visualize it for now, hehe... though I don't see why it'd be more difficult. Dunno I guess we'll find out soon enough. Thanks for the mention.

@fdales17 ...for sure, can't go wrong with traditional stock. Figure its a Weihrauch TH designed stock; I'd give it shot (blame the laminate for that decision. Lol.) My first TH. Overall have been pretty impressed by their products; not the latest or sexiest at times, but most are well built/designed.

To me it depends on the thumb hole fit. I prefer thumb hole stocks but many of them have too long a distance from grip to trigger for my short fingers. It’s hard to cheat your hand forward on a thumb hole grip as compared to a traditional grip. Boyds thumb hole stocks don’t fit me for that reason.

I’m a sucker for both laminate and thumbhole stocks and that grey laminate definitely looks the part. I don’t have overly big hands and the HW thumbhole stocks work really well for me .I believe there’s a setback trigger available for both the 100 and 110 models if you find the reach to the trigger a bit long. Keep us posted on that beauty. Once again , I sure wish Weihrauch would make a .25 cal of either the 100 or 110. I’d be first in line.

This is simple. If you like to shoot off hand with your elbow up, conventional; if you like to shoot with your elbow down along your body thumbhole! I get the feeling that most people ask this just because of how they look and are worried about resale possibility, because they are completely different when shooting and you are going to want one or the other depending on shooting position, and nobody is going to tell you what is more usable for your needs. You already know.

I always prefer wood stocks. And that laminated stock looks so great !
Also on a wood stock you can do a "poncé-huilé" - sorry i don't know how to say it in english - wich make the wood absolutely beautiful to see and touch.

I have an HW100 Laminate Carbine Thumbhole and it fits me very well. About average arm length and hand size, I would say.
