HW110 Bonded Moderator Removal

I want to try other moderator options on my new HW110. I removed the moderator by screwing it off with my hand, not hard at all, twisted off with about enough pressure a 2 liter bottle of Coke takes to open. There is an adapter that is left and looks like that is attached via UNF to the barrel. Can anyone confirm if the barrel is UNF threaded? If so, since that adapter doesn't screw off easily would that be something that I would apply heat to so that it would loosen? Thanks

Looking at the end of that barrel, it definitely looks like a thread that has been chased on there. I can see where the thread starts on there’s a Burr still on it.And it’s actually just a sharp edge that the metal pushes over as the threading tool starts into the cut. But I’m not familiar with that gun although I do know of it but I have heard people say that they had to use heat to take them off. There has to be somebody that can give you a definite answer on here.

I agree with phillip,,, moderator end cap. I've researched the 110 bonded moderator removal before and from what I found you must use heat. I kept mine intact. My 110 is .177 and shot comparing it to an FX Dreamline .22 with Donny,, (and what others have mentioned),, the Weihrauch moderators are top quality sound suppressors.

If you decide to go ahead with other moderator experiments please post your findings.

Thanks for the responses, the HW mod works great, just wanted it a bit quieter. May move to another platform. For now I’ll leave it on, I don’t want to mess with heat and the barrel as it shoots great. Any additional suppression will most likely mean using a wider or longer mod that will add a couple of ounces to the front and the balance is perfect now.
