N/A HW100 upgrades

Seeing as I love my HW100’s so much I thought I’d share what my favourite upgrades and mods are.
1- light weight cylinder ( I use Ratworks )
2- new style cocking levers ( Apex airguns has them)
3- remove the restrictor on the valve stem ( small brass collars)
4- Rowan engineering triggers
5 - stainless swivel studs
6- 3D printed double magazine holders
7- degrease the trigger and replace with moly( not a mod but more of a must do)

What are you guys doing to improve this timeless classic?

My gun is the HW100S rifle. I got the extended length Rat Works cylinder for mine. The USA spec newer rifles are 50 joules and they don't have the restrictor on the valve. I was getting two magazines full of shots from the factory cylinder, the Rat Works FAC model brought it up to 42. On this rifle I decided to try the recessed cup type pushbutton sling attachment. I had just as soon went with regular old sling studs, all you gain is nothing projecting from the stock when a sling is not in use. The recessed cup kit came with adapters for standard swivels if wanting to use a sling with those on it already instead of the push buttons. The cups were a pain in the butt to install. I haven't messed with the trigger as I have been fine with it as is. The rifle was fantastic as it came, I just wanted to get more shots from a fill, mainly when target shooting. 28 when squirrel hunting was really enough as I had never ran out but when shooting paper running into the house and filling up less times is a bit better.

Great list. Thank you.
Sounds like the best upgrade is sending one to you!

How about a Lefty Indonesian Rosewood stock?

Dr. Bob’s HW100 Bottle Conversion Kit:

Well a deal came up that I just couldn’t pass up on. I did a partial trade of one of my other rifles for it. Yet another HW100TKFSB. It’s in .22 caliber with the walnut stock. But I have a plan. This one is being converted to .20 caliber. I’ve already got a barrel coming and magazines are readily available which is strange as the .20 caliber wasn’t a high production unit. This will be my third and will now have one in each caliber. Did I mention how much I appreciate the quality of the HW100. Machining the barrel will be the tough part. Man this is going to be a good one.

With 40J+ what kind of accuracy are you getting and which pellet/slug do you use?
Not sure who you were asking. I can tell you that my .22 shooting at 30 fpe with 18.1 grain JSB pellets is very accurate out to 50 yards. I don’t push it past that as I have other rifles for that purpose. I’ve never shot slugs from it either for the same reason.
There rifles really shine with pellets speeds between 800 and 900 fps. Any faster and the pellets tend to spiral.

I put a Ratworks cylinder on my HW100BP, lightened it up a little, my HW100BP and HW100T .22's are tuned to 780 Fps with JSB 18's, very accurate, my HW100TFSB .20 is tuned to 800 Fps, very accurate with JSB 13's, I have a homemade moderator to bring the volume down to a puff and a HW100tuning poppet, but all are mostly stock, I would like to do a carbon fiber bottle conversion on the HW100T .22 some day.

where did you manage to find the HW100 in .20 cal ? Are you in the UK?

Mine has delivered excellent accuracy with the JSB and JTS copy 18.13, JSB Monster RDS before they split them into shallow and deep skirts (have not tried the newer ones), H&N Barracuda Match 21.14 and the JTS 21.53. The H&N Barracuda Hunter and Barracuda 18 were terrible as we're the NSA 20.2 grain slugs. The best accuracy of all has been from the JSB 18.13, they shoot at a mv of 970 GPS and regularly do a half inch at fifty yards.
