Tuning HW100 repaired worn out trigger sear

well I bought a Used/Parts Weihrauch HW100 that had a missing cylinder, a Leak and a trigger problem, fixed the leak and replace the cylinder, but the trigger won't hold the Hammer in the cocked mode, gun fires on it's own when closing the side lever, checked the trigger sear and found the center sear holding the main bolt sear was worn out, checked all HW100 parts places but no one has any, well I decided to fix it myself since I have a wire feed welder, took the trigger apart and did a very small weld on the tip of the center sear, looked like a good weld, use a Rat tail file and a flat file to shape the metal, after several reassemblies, removals and refiling, I got it to work , buffed the burrs off and reassembled, test the trigger and it works perfectly, Took about 2 hours to do, saved myself about $200.00, the cost of a new Trigger assembly, (Which no one had in stock), if you have a worn out trigger and a Wire feed welder, you can save a lot of money fixing it yourself, sorry I didn't take any pictures.

Good work fixing that one. Never would have thought the sear would wear out. That gun must have a ton of shots on it. I have a 177 with about the 10k through it with no signs of wear. Hope the fix lasts for you.

Yeah, that seems like an unusual problem. I've read of a couple of instances in which the top sear broke, but never heard of either piece wearing out.

Nice job on the weld. I do FCAW DCEN wire welding and love it — all scrap metal becomes a welded up PCP target

Nice fix! I TIG weld and do lots of build-ups for all sorts of things.

Now if I can get the Tail stock on my Lathe to line up properly, .....Cheap Crappy Lathe..... you know where it was made?...... 5 letter Name, Starts with a C and ends with an A

Get you a South Bend lathe and it will be like night and day. Everybody I guess has their preference but I have ran many different lathes And it was always my favorite. I’ve seen used milling machines and lathes Sometimes go pretty cheap at auctions from companies that were closing up Or companies that were replacing some of their older machines with new equipment.

I wish I could fit a South bend, I'm currently in a Mobile home Park, no garage, just a car port and small storage shed, so I have a cheap Vevor 9x24 on a work stand under a Pop up in front of the shed, keep getting notices from the manager about it, I might clear out the side patio and put it in there and get it out of the weather, too heavy for someone to steal, but if they did I could claim it on insurance and get a good one...Ha Ha Ha.
