HW scope recommendations

Cheap or more expensive , scopes and springers are a dice roll. About the best advice is one that gives a no questions asked lifetime warranty to send it in for repair. But ya know them hw's /r9 shoot as good on sights anyway . No need for scope hassle.. saves me money and that aggravation..

For scopes ive used i had package scoped hold up ad good as more recommend ones and gail just as easy to..

You used a hawke and it failed. There ya go.

Suggestions for a tuned hw 30 in .22 caliber? Back yard plinking to 35 yards in the intended use. I have 2 R9's that have eaten scopes, both UTG and Hawke. Since the recoil of the hw 30 is quite mild in comparison, perhaps I don't need top the line glass. I would like mil dots because of the rainbow trajectory of the low velocity
I have a few UTGs that have bounced between Dianas and Gamo Magnums that haven't failed yet and they have more shots on them than I could even begin to imagine. Even had one on my HW95 (R9) for a bit before putting a Talos on there.

I had a Sidewinder on my HW95 but that gun did end up eating that scope. Luckily Hawke took care of it for me.

Near same report on my athlon talos.. i mounted it up and used it today. I throw it on anything i decided to . I can recomend it i guess . Good lifetime warranty with athlon as well.

Please, what model UTG have you had success with? The HW 30 has very low recoil, and it is very low powered so I don't need much magnification but do need mil dots, especially as it is in .22

I have this combination on several springers. Can find them on amazon for $199. Had one scope go south on me. Had a new one two weeks later from Hawke's excellent warranty service. Great glass and excellent mildot reticle. The droop mount helps with low powered springers.

No utg here except mounts .

The 2 primary scopes i use are a gamo package scope and athlon talos (3x12 mildot?). I shoot opensight 99.468% of the time . These 2 scopes ive kept cause they hold zero . Like you. Had others bit they all spit thete bits.

Like this week shooting 75yards i shot open then gamos , the the talos a few cards then like today ill probably pull ot off and go back open sight. Like the r9 one way no better then the other as far as hitting or groups ..lol. check my latest R9 75y try thread . The Gamo and Talos are used.

Another I've not used but springer guys like at gta seem to like is the hammers scopes. May want to check them out

I'm considering this combo for my HW30. How much room is there for the objective with this mount?

I cannot get my finger between the scope and the rifle. Less than a centimeter. I zero'ed the rifle at 50 yards and used very little turret adjustments.

My Beeman R7 .177 with the above mentioned Airmax 3-9x40 in Hawke medium mounts. Yeah yeah yeah, many think it's too big for the rifle but my tired, almost 60 year old eyes appreciate the bit higher magnification...lol. Just enough room to squeeze the lens cover on it and also room to adjust the front AO if I want or need to. I could have left the open sights on it since there was no ghost of them in the bottom of the scope, but it just makes for a cleaner, sleeker look. Muzzle weight is an Apex from ARH.

I don't think 3-9X is too high of magnification at all for the R7/HW30. If it can do 1/4" groups at 20 meters it can definitely used that 9X.
