fine looking rig indeed ,, all the way from the really nice barrel bluing ,,to the way they have double stitching on a fine looking laminate stock ,, under lever ,,iron sights would really take this one back in time ,,cant wait to what comes from the review,, ps i really liked the back and forth ,,previous video with mike and steeve ,,would like to see more of that type of video where as it seems most new release are coming with a compact little sister ,i think it would be fun for you 2 to do a little competition back and forth during the reviews Hynzie 4s

I've had one in .20 cal on order from Pyramyd Air since December and still waiting. They told me it would be in their next shipment from Weirauch at the end of March, but to not hold my breath with worldwide shipping delays. When I ordered, it was just over $500.00 with a discount code, but the price has gone up since then. Also have a nice Bushnell Engage 3-12x42 scope that I picked up for $200.00 from Midway just waiting for a place to sit.

love the HW 97 always wanted one . All under lever air guns are Known to be super accurate but the HW 97 is in my opinion a top shelf air gun and would be honored to add it to my collection she’s a beauty in the blue laminate

I have always liked the hw97 . My friend has one it’s got to be 20+ years old and still shooting great no matter who’s shooting the gun! I almost bought one not that long ago but I ended up getting another pcp.

I have one in .22 cal, and it just amaze me everytime i shoot with it, i will get one in .177 also, i wanted it with the thumbhole stock but these blue laminate stocks are so beutiful...

The hw97k is a great package. Mine is .177 and setup to shoot at 12fpe. My most accurate spring gun.

I have zero interest in candy colored stocks du jour, but patiently waiting for Weihrauch to offer the HW97 with high quality walnut stock. The only current option, afiak, is the HW35E.

I was never a fan of laminated stocks, thinking that they were too too gaudy and showy. I changed my mind when I purchased a Marauder (my first PCP) on eBay equipped with a Boyds custom stock in Royal Jacaranda laminate. I'll probably never buy another air rifle that doesn't offer a laminate option. I recently purchased a BSA Gold Star in the Union Jack pattern, and the HW97 in blue is supposedly on the way. I still admire a nicely figured high grade stock, but most of the plain beech or walnut stocks offered on most current air rifles just look like brown furniture to me now.

Being rough and hard on stocks I own a HW97 Blackline in 177 caliber. Love the thumb hole stock and of course the gun all you see and read about is awesome.

l bought TWO of these in .25 a couple of years ago from AOA and both had come with broken stocks at the pistol grip where the laminated glue just gave out to make both rifles in laminate blue broken clean across the pistol grip.

I gave up entirely on ordering 77 or 97s in laminate and the HW97K-T BEECH .20 is what I have that is NOT broken across the laminated pistol grip.

Ask AOA if you don't believe me because THEY covered the cost of the rifles and postage and insurance to replace both laminate blue .25 HW77s with a .22 Long Range Hunter HW80K.

THAT rifle is still HERE doing everything with accuracy and power and scope and zero recoil Diana mounts and rings.

And THAT rifle is LIGHT.

That's not a manufacturing error. That is when the box gets caughts in the UPS conveyor belt sideways and it snaps the gun in half from the weight of hundreds of packages slamming into it. 

It happened to my Red Wolf Rossi. I don't think Minelli and Daystate used bad glue.

Yes! AOA knew it and the design was vulnerable to processing packaged in air line moves or perhaps even truck moves for the rifle.

I had no bias against the designed HW77 but still felt when the pistol grip was finally in YOUR hands how strong is it to my Beech HW97 K-T .20 which NEVER BREAKS and ALWAYS performs despite the fact I prefer the HW95 or HW98 to any 77 97 style after YEARS of time with ALL things coming to me since 1969.

Give up on the HW77 and HW97 is my thought and I have the .20 HW97K in Thumbhole.

It is HARD to cock without slipping on that stick underneath and when all is finally in place including the pellet the result is LOW velocity compared to HW98 .20 and so why bother especially if it shoots straighter offhand.

I can shoot anything benched and sandbagged but I REFUSE to do so and never sandbagged an air rifle in my life since 1969.

It is because the Offhand position is the most likely position you will find yourself in the field to use for a shot. Beyond that set up a trench and sandbags to hit the varmint when he decides to walk into your trap.

Even hunting deer you can either stalk or sit in a stand. The "stand" sitting up in a tree or waiting somehow for the perfect shot is not hunting in the field. It is sitting in place in the field without using your own natural instincts to walk and stalk like our earlier ancestors.

So these heavy laminates compared to a heavy target rifle (HW77/97) to HW98 is meaningless if you divide table accuracy with field accuracy.

Yes you CAN take an HW50 into the field better than any HW77 or 97.

Yes you CAN take into the field the HW95 and HW98 and do A LOT BETTER than the table bench restricted 77s and 97s.

That is what I was saying, still owning the .20 in 97 which is LESS accurate and less powerful that my HW98 .20.
