Huunting With Springers?

I have been hunting for 70+ years.

When walking around, I never have a round of any type of ammunition chambered in an arm or with an arrow on the string.

That includes, PB, springers and PCP arms, bows (of any kind).

My blackpowder rifles will be loaded but will not receive a cap or primer until I am ready to shoot.

Everyone who hunts with me does the same thing..

Been hunting a long time. Bows, trad and otherwise, guns etc. Never heard this before, no disrespect intended. Kinda odd.

Same here. Seems strange but to each his own. As to hunting with springers, I had a major squirrel problem this year with damage to several structures and needed to thin the population a lot. I took 12 to 15 from the area using, amongst other guns, a .177 Walther LGU at ranges to 50 yards but the kills were not as quick or clean as I would like at the longer ranges. Out to 35 yards single shot kills were the norm. Knowing ones ability and the output of any given gun is key. FWIW.
