It’s been a cold/wet winter in this area of the country for the past 2 months. Lately a warm spell came in so Dana and I packed up some lead slingers in the truck and headed to one of our permissions for two days. Dana had a .30 and I brought one in .357! It was my first time air gun hunting with that caliber, so I was expecting to “get some”.
We took a few minutes after unloading to check zero, then it was time to get after some small game. The wet weather got the grass on the property to blow up lately. I’ve never seen it this high before.
Some of this property is used for storage and these tires got stacked up to be used as a blind. It came in handy when I spotted a jackrabbit at 155 yards up the road on the other side of the ravine.
I was hoping to go long with the .357, but it seemed lie the farther the squirrels were, the more skittish they got. This one wasn't and let me take him at 41 yards.
Later, Dana got luckier and bagged a coyote with his .30.
