Hunting places near Joshua Tree,CA ?

Is anybody familiar with the Joshua Tree/Yucca Valley /Twenty Nine Palms BLM hunting areas .
Is it a good hunting place ?
I'm like 60 miles away, and on vacation until January 4th,and trying to find a place to go hunting rabbits for a day,but ,
if somebody knows the area, and can give some directions,it will be very helpful .
This is a high desert place, and it looks like in the picture which I found on the internet .
Please comment.
Thanks.

That's a pretty cool area and I know for a fact has a good number of Jackrabbits. This year isn't so great for Cottontail though. Best bet is to talk to a Game Warden if possible or find like you mentioned BLM land on a map or app. The pic you posted looks like prime area to me. Try early morning or evening as that's when the rabbits are most active.

Thanks for the tip Dana.
The area looks like the area where you hunt(Palmdale ,etc.) .
I haven't been in the Joshua Tree are in years .
I went to the local office of the BLM today ,to ask for places to shoot near Yucca valley, and the lady gave 2 maps with the BLM designated land for free.
Usually they're $4 a piece .
She told me of a new open BLM area that has many people interested in ,and is closer to where I live.
Maybe I'll check it out tomorrow.

"huntjunky"Be careful to stay on BLM and not wander onto national forest...cost me an $85 fine, while coyote hunting and I got of lucky, due to my boyish charm and rugged good looks. :) The rest of my hunt was pretty devoid of game. :-(
Got a question, aren't you allowed to hunt in national forest, I thought that was legit. Don't folks hunt deer and bear in national Forest ?
