Hunting grays with King Heavy’s vs Hades in .25

In some of my .25 guns I use either Hades or JSBs. Depending on shooting paper targets or spinners and their ranges. But for hunting I stick with the NSA slugs only. Not to be a B A. But most of my hunts are all day ones. Might start out yote or fox hunting till daylight. Then hit the creek bottoms for coon At first light. A lot of the shots are in open terrain and getting close is tough. And after things warm up a bit, I just like the slugs for tree rats. I agree, shot placement is king. I know I have killed a lot more squirrels with my .20 R-10 over the years using lite Polymags. Kind of nice hearing the thud of a solid hit.

40y and less .... KNOW THY GUN !!!
This all day. I won't push my 12-15 fpe guns past 30-40 yards to make sure I'm getting an ethical kill. The lower power guns also allow me to use a smaller scope and save on weight and aid in maneuverability. Tree squirrels will let you get in range for a 12 fpe gun. They think they're safe up there lol.

now if you're hunting ground squirrels with a 12 fpe gun at 100 yards you need to rethink the whole damn game!
