Hunting for munks with Morgan

This was our main chipmunk hunting machine for many years. I mentioned her in a previous post about chipmunks. As a dachshund they usually are ground digging dogs. She was a freedom like a confound, she would trail locate the tree and then bark treed. She would watch to make sure the chipmunk didn't switch trees or escape down the back side of the tree. She barked until I showed up and then I watched where she was looking and usually found the junk. Using a Diana model 34 knocked them out to her. If she followed them to a hole she would dig for them and had help from our male dachshund digging.

Good girl! Morgan is a sweet looking dog, she looks happy with the kill. Her brown eyes seem like she’s offering you some of the bounty…
