What hunting Apps have you folks downloaded into your phones? I see there are a few out there for distress calls etc. Which ones have you had luck with? Squirrels are starting to come out here in SoCal.

I've got onXhunt on my phone. It lets you know who owns the property where you might want to hunt whether private or state land. It also has the the elevation lines with a sat view of the terrain.

Tony, I'll show you the one I've got tomorrow. Used it the other day & it brought the young stupid ones out to investigate. BAD MOVE on their part.

Love using a red hawk call downloaded from YouTube on my phone. The ground squirrels quit periscoping and stand up for you to see them. I don't over use it- they catch on if you do so.
I use Onyx to determine property lines ,ownership and pre scout new areas.
I've learned that in California, much of the uncorporated properties are in Trusts or in people's grandparents names. Consider making friends ((LinkedIn, church groups, business associates, feed stores) via others who may know the true owners & give the handoff for a warm introduction . Onyx helps me learn where to keep my eyes open when meeting people.

I use the HuntStand hunting app and This app is probably one of the great hunting apps reviews. It has a proper weather system installed that tells you when it will be sunny or when it’s about to rain.

I use this call when I'm shooting ground squirrels. It won't make them come to you, but it will make them stand up and if they go down their hole, most of the time, it will make them pop back up. The call is inexpensive, easy to use, and most importantly, it works. It mimics the sound of a baby squirrel in distress.
